Eurocoding has been working for over 20 years as the official distributor for DTM Print, a global leader in the digital label printing sector. We have therefore decided to mark this important anniversary with a series of newsletters in the form of informative snippets dedicated to the CLP2200e, the new printer that DTM Print has designed after carefully listening to users’ needs, and which embodies all the successes, innovation and know-how accumulated over four decades.
The communications we have sent and will be sending to our partners are therefore intended to share insights, details and updates on the CLP series, so that you can gain a full understanding of this innovative DTM Print product and make it a new addition to your business.
First, let’s see what’s included in the pack
CLP2200e colour label printer with pigment ink (item code CLP22-103) or dye-based ink (item code CLP22-101)
A CLP2200e label dispenser (item code CLP22-110) (you can, however, let us know if you’d prefer to use your own unwinder)
A set of separate ink tanks for cyan, magenta, yellow and black (dye-based or pigment-based), with a capacity of 26 ml per colour and 78 ml for black
A semi-permanent, multi-purpose print head. No configuration cartridges are required (as you may be aware, these were necessary for the LX1000e/LX2000e models)
A starter roll, 100 labels on 6x4” semi-gloss DTM paper (for dye-based ink) or 6x4” matt DTM paper (for pigment-based ink)
USB 2.0 cable, power supply and power cable

Getting started with the CLP2200e
To get off to the best start with the CLP2200e, we recommend watching this easy-to-follow video, which demonstrates the setup and installation process:

A print head, the right ink, the best results
A key component of all printers, the print head supplied with the CLP2200e is dye- or pigment-based and can be easily replaced by the user.
Each printhead is supplied new (unused) and uses standard ink cartridges for priming the head during installation (no configuration cartridges are required).
A new printhead always requires new, 100% full cartridges to ensure there is sufficient ink to properly fill and purge the printhead reservoir and the entire system.
Once the priming process is complete, cartridges that have already been used and have lower ink levels can be reused with this new printhead.
As the cartridges are sealed, they will not become blocked even if removed from the printer.
Thanks to the priming process, it is possible to combine different types of ink within a single printhead.
One possible example: using black pigment ink for UV-resistant barcodes and dye-based inks for brighter, more vivid colours. However, once a specific configuration of cartridges and inks has been installed, the print head can only be used with that same configuration to prevent contamination or damage.
We would, however, like to emphasise that the CLP2200e printer model can use both water-based and pigment-based inks.
Note: when the print head is not in use, it must always be stored in a sealed container
