CLP2200E PRINTER IN THE “PRINT & APPLY” VERSION

Today we’re bringing you a “pill” packed with details and useful tips on the CLP2200e, the innovative printer from DTM Print, distributed by Eurocoding.

This update focuses on thermal printer models with ‘print & apply’ systems, which are ideal for production lines – whether on conveyor belts or as part of a fixed workstation. This is a fairly common feature, but it is generally limited to monochrome printing.

Thanks to DTM Print, here is a great opportunity: the CLP2200ep, the ‘print & apply’ version of the CLP2200e printer, equipped with a peel-off mechanism and delivering high-quality colour prints!

The range of applications is vast, given that users of the DTM CLP2200ep model include: machine manufacturers, automation systems, industrial labelling companies, conveyor system manufacturers… An interesting opportunity, therefore, if you already have clients of this kind in your CRM!

In addition to the familiar features of the CLP2200e (mentioned in previous communications), the CLP2200ep model with DTM peeler offers some truly significant advantages, particularly in the fields of automation and precision in production processes:

- The ‘Settings’ tab in the DTM Toolbox allows you to customise and fully integrate the printer into your automated systems.

- You can control parameters such as the print head closing time, the peeler start-up timeout, and the nozzle preheating cycles… all these detailed options can be found on page 22 of the manual (Section 5.5).

But the real highlight lies in the mechanical design of the peeler: whilst other systems print and peel the label simultaneously, the CLP2200ep prints the entire label first and only peels it off at the end. This results in a cleaner, more reliable finish that better meets the expectations of those working with advanced labelling systems.

To give you a broader overview, we’ve prepared a sales guide summarising the key strengths of both versions: the standard CLP2200e and the CLP2200ep version with a peeler. You can find it here:

If you’re now considering adding this new product to your portfolio, read on: we’ll explain how best to order and configure the machine.

Configuration options – How to order the DTM CLP2200ep

For seamless integration, we recommend ordering the machine pre-configured to your requirements.

If no specific configuration is specified, the machine will start in Desktop Peeler mode, the basic configuration also used for demos. This mode operates semi-automatically and is activated via a foot switch (item code CLP22-112).

You can see how it works in this video:

Alternatively, you can opt for:

- Slave mode:

the external system controls everything; the printer sends status signals (Ready, Separation, Error). It is like a TSC printer, perfect for basic automation.

- Master mode:

the printer communicates with the PLC via hardware or software and provides real-time feedback. This is the most reliable solution, thanks to a software interface via DLL.

Furthermore, you can choose how to manage the waste liner output:

- Bottom output (standard)

- Rear output (optional, requires a rewinder) – to be specified at the time of ordering.

This is undoubtedly a highly sophisticated solution in the field of automation, and also a challenging one as it may involve engineers and systems technicians; however, you certainly have the ideal solution with all the necessary information should this requirement arise amongst your customers.

We hope you’ve found this ‘pill’ to the ‘print & apply’ version of the CLP2200e a worthwhile use of your time.

See you for the next “pill”!
